Background

Elio Campitelli is a postdoctoral research fellow based at Monash University. They completed a PhD in atmospheric sciences at the University of Buenos Aires in 2024. In their Masters and PhD research, they studied the zonally asymmetric circulation of the Southern Hemisphere and its relationship with the Southern Annular Mode and El Niño-Southern Oscillation. They are a member of Professor Julie Arblaster’s group at SAEF and will focus on interactions between the tropics and Antarctic sea ice.
