About

Indigo McKinnon
Monash University
Honours student

Background

Indigo is an Honours student, working under the supervision of Dr Felicity McCormack. Her research aims to improve methods for studying the internal structure of ice sheets, through the development of semi-automated isochrone tracing techniques. She uses ice-penetrating radar data from Law Dome, East Antarctica, to better understand past change in physical properties, and assess potential future change.

“Antarctica’s importance, in both a scientific and broader social sense, deserves our best efforts to understand and protect. “
