About

Jakob Quade
The University of Sydney
PhD Student

Background

Jakob is a marine science PhD student specializing in ecotoxicology. With a strong interest in understanding the connections between land and sea ecosystems, he joined SAEF under the supervision of Dr Graeme Clark and Professor Emma Johnston. Jakob’s research will investigate the impact of land-based natural nutrient enrichment sites on adjacent marine ecosystems in Antarctic and sub-Antarctic regions. By unravelling these interactions, he hopes to gain valuable insights into how climate change and governance may impact biocenosis shifts in these delicate latitudes, contributing to a better understanding of the environmental challenges facing Antarctica’s future.
