Background
Jasmin is a marine geoscientist at Geoscience Australia, where she specialises in mapping and characterising the seafloor. Her work supports the government and key stakeholders by providing crucial insights that help inform decisions about Australia’s offshore environment. Jasmin studied a Bachelor of Environmental Science at the University of Canberra, majoring in ecology, environmental management, water science and environmental genetics. Following her passion for the environment, she went on to study a Bachelor of Applied Science (Honours), graduating with first-class honours. Jasmin’s studies at university provided her with a deep understanding of the onshore environment, which she has been able to apply to her marine research and projects.
Jasmin’s role in SAEF involves providing detailed interpretation of marine geoscience datasets to better understand past glacial and ice sheet history, as well as providing the regional context of seabed habitats to support biodiversity studies.
