Background

Professor Maria Dornelas is the Deputy Director of the Centre for Biological Diversity, School of Biology, University of St Andrews. Maria is a macroecologist studying biodiversity change in the Anthropocene. Her research includes synthesis of biodiversity data, theoretical ecology and empirical observations, and she has been conducting fieldwork in tropical seas for over 20 years. She co-leads the biodiversity time series database BioTIME.
