Daniela Liggett
Dr Daniela Liggett is an Antarctic social scientist with research interests broadly relating to human engagement with the Antarctic and Antarctic environmental governance. Her current research focuses on Antarctic science-policy interactions, polar tourism and Antarctic environmental management and conservation. Her contributions to SAEF will draw on her strong linkages to the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research’s Ant-ICON (Integrated Science to Inform Antarctic and Southern Ocean Conservation) scientific research programme whose objectives are in alignment with SAEF’s Themes 2 and 3.
“I hope that international, interdisciplinary, collaborative research that is designed to inform and guide Antarctic and Southern Ocean environmental governance and decision-making can set a positive example for what could be achieved elsewhere if we pull on the same string.”
