David Gunawan

Dr David Gunawan is a Senior Lecturer in Statistics at the University of Wollongong. His research develops Bayesian computational methods for high-dimensional time series and spatio-temporal models, with an emphasis on scalable inference and accurate uncertainty quantification. Within Securing Antarctica’s Environmental Future (SAEF), he will develop and apply robust Bayesian statistical frameworks to deliver accurate forecasts, calibrated uncertainty, and risk assessments. These tools will support evidence-based decisions on climate variability, ice-sheet dynamics, and Antarctic ecosystem change across the cryosphere. David will also mentor HDR students and early-career researchers.
