Iva Lawes
Iva is a wildlife conservation and marine science Honours student at the University of Sydney. She is part of the Marine Ecology Futures lab and is being supervised by John Turnbull and Graeme Clarke. Iva’s research interests lie in marine ecology, particularly ecosystem connectivity and community interactions, and how this all relates back to climate change and the impacts we’re currently having on our planet. She plans to use SAEF’s benthic biodiversity guide resources from the Bunger Hills to create a species ID catalogue that she will use in her Honours research to complete photogrammetric analysis of sites at Bunger Hills.
“Antarctica is an essential driving force for climates and ecosystems across our planet, and must be protected if we are to work towards mitigating climate change effects around the globe.”
