In January and February 2024, Dr Matthias Dehling, a research fellow based at Monash University joined the Ross Sea Voyage. This two-month research voyage is a collaboration between the Antarctic Science Platform and the Italian Antarctic Research Programme on board the RV Laura Bassi. Dr Dehling took part in a seabird and seal count which will provide crucial baseline data to support biodiversity monitoring in the Ross Sea Marine Protected Area.
