Sam Beale

Sam is a postdoctoral research fellow at Monash University. His PhD project used a functional trait-based approach to develop a stronger understanding of the diversity of vascular plant forms and functions and how these will likely be impacted by climate change. In his postdoctoral role, Sam’s research focuses on improving the availability and potential of existing biodiversity data in the sub-Antarctic, through the application of the latest data standards and best practices. In addition to this work, Sam will also be part of a field campaign going to Heard Island, where he will be collecting data to help us understand how the vegetation has changed over the last two decades.
