Krystal Randall

Krystal is a biologist and postdoctoral researcher at the University of Wollongong. She is interested in understanding how climate change and extreme events are experienced by Antarctica’s plant life. Her research combines spatial biology, process-based spatio-temporal microclimate modelling, plant physiology and field-based monitoring to understand drivers of change in Antarctic plant communities. Krystal is also involved in developing new technologies within SAEF to advance the capabilities of Antarctic research both in the lab and in the field. She has conducted fieldwork in multiple regions across Antarctica with different national programs to collect various types of data pertaining to both the physical and biological aspects of the Antarctic environment.
