Background
Zach is a quantitative ecologist interested in safeguarding biodiversity from threatening processes. His research is focused on empowering conservation practitioners by giving them tools to make informed, effective management decisions. With SAEF, Zach is leading two projects. The first is an update to a 2012 horizon scan to assist decision-makers in identifying policies that address future challenges related to Antarctic conservation; the second is a comprehensive assessment of the marine and terrestrial pathways most-likely to contribute to the spread of non-native species, based upon human-mediated vectors of transport.
